((Matt Cooke + Marc Savard) && ((Claude Julien + NHL ) – Balls)) == Total B.S.
There needs to be some kind of equal penalty developed to prevent cheap play without taking away fighting completely.
Reactions to Matt Cooke’s cheap shot have ranged from blaming the officials for not seeing to criticizing the rest of the B’s squad for not responding.
What the NHL needs to do is find some method of enforcing penalties that matter.
Eye for an eye.
Teams should have to give up a player of equal or greater value if someone on their team takes a cheap shot that seriously injures someone for the duration of the injured athlete’s injury IN ADDITION to a several game suspension for the cheap shot artist.
This could be universal across all sports.
