Happy Memorial Day!

Here was a man who children should look up to as a sports fan.

I will start by saying that I promise to keep this short.

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day. I would like to thank all of the veterans in our great country who gave their lives for all of our freedom. I would also like to thank those who serve in our military today. It is because of them that we are able to have all of the liberties that we do, and why we are proud to be Americans and part of the greatest country in the world.

This is a day to remember those who have died in combat, and to keep in your hearts those who fight for us today. It is a day to be with family and friends and to enjoy your lives.

But it is a day to remember. We remember why we can enjoy days like this as free people.

Finally, I know I could have chosen so many pictures for this article. Since it is a sports site for me, I chose Pat Tillman. He is the former NFL star who gave up a multi-million dollar contract with the Arizona Cardinals to go off and fight in Afghanistan, where he was the victim of friendly fire.  He is why you will always see me wearing a red wristband that simply states:

“Never Forget #40”

Never forget those who made this great country what it is today.
