Heat Sign Dwyane Wade & Chris Bosh. Is LeBron to Miami Next?

MIAMI – The Miami Heat will sign Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh as soon as NBA Free Agency officially begins in a couple of days. That will certainly make them much more competitive in the NBA Eastern Conference.

This is already a team led by Wade that was the fifth seed in the conference this past season. Now that Wade has a huge presence in Bosh to help him out with the scoring and rebounding, is the third member of their trio next to join?

Bosh will join Wade in Miami. Is James the next member of the Heat?

Now that Wade and Bosh are together, and are quick to say that it is not about the money, will their buddy, LeBron James, join them in South Beach when he announces his decision tomorrow night at 9 PM?

With these two joining the Heat, I would go out on a limb and say that there are truly just three teams remaining in the LeBron chase. Four, if you want to keep it more wide open.

Miami now has to be the favorites to land King James. With Wade and Bosh there and saying they will take less money and they want James to join them, how could the Heat not be the favorites to win the LBJ sweepstakes?

I would rank the Chicago Bulls next. It is still a big market, and they have another star in Derrick Rose already in place. We will soon find out how much James wants to win, as opposed to how much money he wants to make.

That leaves his perhaps former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers in third place. Yes, he can make the most money in his home state. But it is a smaller market, and he will not have much more help than he has right now, and last year’s Cavs team took a step backwards.

That leaves the New York Knicks as the wild card. It would be a huge market, and the team did just sign Amar’e Stoudamire. But I don’t see it happening. The Knicks are further from winning an NBA title than any of the three mentioned above.

Forget the Los Angeles Clippers and New Jersey Nets. No chance with either of those two teams.

James will make his announcement at 9 PM on Thursday night on ESPN. I see Miami or Cleveland as top choices, but Chicago will be there as well. If he really wants to win, like he says, than the big news tomorrow will be that the Miami Heat sign LeBron James. Check back with Boston Super Blog in the coming days for more details.
