NEW ORLEANS – Chris Paul, point guard for the New Orleans Hornets, says that he wants to be traded this offseason. He has gone one step further and said that he has a “strategy” to make sure that he gets his way.
Paul tried to talk LeBron James into staying in Cleveland just two weeks ago. Paul said that staying with the Cavaliers would be the “right thing to do” for James because he started things there, and that is where he should finish.
Well, Paul is now showing that he is a hypocrite. He has actually done a good job of taking some of the Heat off of Miami (yes, pun intended). CP3 has now realized that he may need to go to another team where he can be surrounded by more talent.
So, Paul has decided to ask for a trade to get him somewhere where a team can better surround him with talented players. He is abandoning the team he started with and wants to win a championship.
And how could you criticize James or Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh? They took less money in order to compete for a title and play together. What you are doing is far worse.
It is made worse for that one simple reason. Paul has said that he has a “strategy” and plan that he will implement to ensure that he is traded before the start of the upcoming NBA season.
Really?
Is that blackmail talk, Chris? Do you have some photos of the owner? Did one of the coaches do something that perhaps their spouse would have interest in knowing? Did one of the court sweepers cheat on his math test? What exactly is your plan, Mr. Paul?
Anyway, Paul wants to go to the New York Knicks first, or the Los Angeles Lakers or Orlando Magic. He didn’t want LeBron to leave Cleveland and join up with a powerful trio. Yet he can go and play with Amar’e Stoudamire (and possibly Carmelo Anthony next year) in New York, or Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol in L.A. or even Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson in Orlando. That is alright.
I believe that we can now start the petition to change Paul’s nickname from CP3 to the Ultimate Hypocrite.
I’d start that going now, but I don’t have a strategy or plan yet to implement.
