Week 2 of the 2013 College Football season brought us quite a few big games, with the Georgia Bulldogs extracting some measure of revenge against the Palmetto State. After losing on the road against the Clemson Tigers, the ‘Dawgs took down the South Carolina Gamecocks at home. It is hard to imagine that the second game of the season was a must win for Georgia, but that was more or less the case. We also saw the Miami Hurricanes enter the conversation for which team is the best in college football from the state of Florida, as they were able to hold off the mistake and turnover prone Florida Gators. “The U” still has some work to do, but they won their biggest game in over four years. Finally, the Michigan Wolverines were able to expose the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in front of the biggest crowd in NCAA Football history at the Big House.
That was not all that took place, of course, as many other teams will be jockeying for position as the Week 3 Top 25 Polls will be released shortly. The Alabama Crimson Tide will hang on to the No. 1 overall spot, despite being idle this past weekend. That gave them an extra week to prepare for the head case that is Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday. We will also see the Texas Longhorns and USC Trojans continue to fall, while the Baylor Bears and BYU Cougars look to improve on last week’s rankings.
