We enjoyed the long weekend and took advantage of the fact that we had Monday off and swapped up the schedule a bit BUT I’ll post as though we stuck to the normal days…
WEEK 9 DAY 2 – 5 MILES
I had a feeling going into that I wasn’t going to have my best day and I just couldn’t get myself mentally prepared. I was still a bit sore from back to back running days even though Sunday was just a 5-er. I got some pretty bad cramps while I was running but at least I had some TV to watch and keep my mind off it while I pushed through to the finish!

WEEK 9 DAY 4 – 5 MILES
I absolutely had every intention of running but I got stuck on a job site late Wed, Thur, and Friday so that coupled with not seeing my little nugget at all on those days really sucked all the motivation out of me. Bumper to bumper traffic on the way home made it a complete no-go. The Gazelle got her run in though, I mean, they have to stick with it, you never know when you’re going to have to out-run a lion as a gazelle…

WEEK 9 DAY 6 – 6 MILES
I thought that I was mentally prepared for 6 miles… turns out… not so much. Holy crap did that do a mental number on me! I had some pretty bad cramps in my side while running too and had to stop several times. I had to take a 1 minute break at 3 miles to stretch out and then get back at it. I think I’ll chalk up this to the fact that I hadn’t run since Monday plus I was exhausted from working a lot. Also, do I really need and excuse to not be super fast at the longest distance I’ve ever run? The Gazelle was fine… again… and her “words of encouragement” when I told her my time were “whoa… what happened?”… I guess that’s still better than being ditched on back to back race days after she promised to run with me though…
DAY 62 of 280 – 5 MILE RUN – RESULTS
WEEK 9 DAY 7 – 2 to 3 MILES
I mentally prepared myself for 5 miles for some reason and would have run it too if Shan (the Gazelle) had not reminded me what I was supposed to be doing. My knees have been pretty sore so I decided not to push myself too much. Then there’s the Gazelle herself, she has to beat everyone including herself on every run. Go Gazelle go…
