Discover Fan Loyalty Poll: Week 13 BCS Projections Reflect Game To Relive For Ages For Auburn Tigers

The latest results of the Discover Fan Loyalty Poll dealt with college football fans’ desire to return to relive one more day in college. Overall, the majority surveyed said that they would jump at the chance to relive one more day in college. Many people still said that they would decline the opportunity, stating that they have put their college days behind them. After watching a plethora of exciting Week 12 finishes in the college football world on Saturday, the Week 13 BCS Projections will reflect these outcomes. Although, no game had a finish that can compare to that of the Auburn Tigers pulling off a late-game miracle against the Georgia Bulldogs. While the ending to the USC Trojans vs. Stanford Cardinal was fantastic, and the outcome will be reflected in the latest BCS Standings, nothing was like watching Auburn and its miracle reception toward the end of a pivotal SEC contest. It is a game that Tigers’ fans will relive for ages.

Of course, fans of the ‘Dawgs will be trying to erase that play from their minds for years to come, as that loss eliminated Georgia from playing in the SEC Championship Game in less than three weeks.

Before we check out my new BCS Projections, take a look at some of the other results from Week four of the Discover Fan Loyalty Poll. Aside from being asked whether or not college football fans would go back to relive one more day in college, they were also asked about how far they have gone to show their support and school spirit. I will reveal some of the results below, but, if you would like to show off your school spirit for your favorite college football team as well as enter a contest to win a $25 gift card, make sure that you continue to read!

When it came to the same question about reliving one day back in college, women were more likely to go back to school for one more day than men, with results of 60 percent to 54 percent. The poll also found that Pac-12 fans would wish to relive a day of college most, at 61 percent, followed by Big 12 fans at 60 percent and Big Ten fans at 58 percent. Check out the infographic below, as well as more results from the latest Discover Fan Loyalty Poll, including just how far some fans have gone to show their school spirit.

As it relates to school spirit, most college football fans don’t resort to body art, face painting or possible thievery to show school spirit. The vast majority, 79 percent, have never done any of these things. However, 17 percent of fans have gone to the extreme by:

  • Getting a tattoo related to your team, 3 percent
  • Painting body parts, 3 percent
  • Coloring your hair, 3 percent
  • Stolen the rival team’s mascot, 1 percent
  • You have done more than one of these, 4 percent
  • You’ve done much crazier, c’mon!, 3 percent

How far have you gone? Are you part of the 21 percent who have gone to extreme lengths to show their support and school spirit for their favorite NCAA Football team, or are you much more reserved? If you attended the Auburn game against Georgia on Saturday, did you dye your hair or paint your face/body? Or, if you watched USC upset Stanford, were you flexing your muscle with a tattoo of a Trojan on your bulging bicep? If so, let us know!

With regard to the Week 13 BCS Projections, the top three teams will likely remain the same. After the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs – albeit in a game much closer than many had predicted – and the Florida State Seminoles and Ohio State Buckeyes also knocked off inferior competition, No. 1, 2 and 3 will stay the same for at least one more week. After that, however, things will look slightly different. Take a look at how I feel the next BCS Standings could look:

2. Florida State Seminoles
3. Ohio State Buckeyes
4. Baylor Bears
5. Oregon Ducks
6. Auburn Tigers
7. Clemson Tigers
