The Road To MetLife Stadium: Championship Weekend Features Key Players On Injury Report

The Road To MetLife Stadium will be much more clear following Championship Weekend. Unfortunately, for all four teams remaining, some key players may not see the field during their teams’ quests in the AFC and NFC Championship Games. I reported earlier yesterday that Percy Harvin was unlikely to suit up for the Seattle Seahawks when they take on the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title tilt, and that was later confirmed by the team, who has already ruled out their biggest playmaker on offense due to lingering symptoms from a concussion he suffered the previous weekend in a win over the New Orleans Saints. Harvin will not be the only key player for any of the final four teams, although some of the players listed on the latest injury report are there more for cautionary reasons. Harvin appears to be the biggest name who will not play on Sunday.

In the spirit of full-disclosure, I’m working as part of the Road to MetLife Stadium Preferred Blogger Program. Throughout the year I’ll be receiving special access to MetLife events and be conducting reader giveaways, with prizes provided by MetLife and Sony Electronics. However, no payment was given or expected for posting about the program, and as always, all opinions given here are fully my own.

Yet, while Harvin may be the biggest name on the injury report, he is not the only player who can make an impact. Here is a look at the complete injury report for all four teams as they prepare for the AFC and NFC Championship Games:

For the record, most of the big names listed on the latest injury report will start on Sunday. Denver Broncos and New England Patriots fans should not be at all concerned to read names such as Peyton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, Tom Brady and Dont’a Hightower on this list. Same goes for the 49ers and Frank Gore and the Seahawks and Marshawn Lynch. All will play on Sunday. The players who are listed as questionable are the ones to monitor closely, as their chances of playing are officially 50-50.

If you are looking for which team may have a greater edge, make sure to check out Stats.com. If the temperatures dip below 40 degrees on Sunday, Stats.com will tell you why we may very well be watching the Patriots face the 49ers in MetLife Stadium in Super Bowl XLVIII. Of course, the Broncos and Seahawks may have something to say in that matter, regardless of how low the temperatures dip.
