While the snow continues to fall across much of the United States, the 2014 MLB Opening Day is finally upon us all. While the season may have officially started in Australia over a week ago, as well as the first game of the season in the states taking place last night, in the minds of many, the 2014 MLB season truly begins with the first pitch this afternoon.
That means that is never too early to start talking division races, playoff picks, individual awards and World Series predictions. While all 30 teams start the season with a clean slate and optimistic hope, only one will win the World Series in October. Of course, that will not prevent the other 29 from leaving it all on the field in 2014. With that being said, we can also eliminate a handful of teams from postseason contention within the coming month or so. I won’t spoil it for them, but you can find them toward the bottom of the standings in my 2014 MLB predictions.
Of course, as a disclaimer, I must admit that I also picked the Boston Red Sox to finish in fourth place in 2013, so, what do I know. Enjoy!
